Natural Organic Flea & Tick Control….
Awesome, but does it work? There are tons of flea and tick control products out there to use, and I have used all of the most common brands. So, when I was introduced to Wondercide, a Natural and Organic flea and tick control, I had to try it out.
My Experience with Flea & Tick Control
(Disclaimer: I am basing this review off my personal experiences and opinions with typical flea and tick control)
Flea and Tick control is a necessity, at least it is for this family. Living in the Southeastern part of the US, we have our fair share of nasty fleas, pesky ticks and carnivorous mosquitoes that hunt you down like a pack of wolves. We have to use flea and tick prevention. Brody has extremely bad reactions to flea bites, we live in a wooded area, we are constantly outside on the trails and we have had two tick cases with Saban this year. You don’t need me to tell you that fleas, ticks and mosquitoes are bad news and that they carry and spread diseases.
Now I was taught and told, like many of us, that we need to use treatments and I am all for them in most cases. What I never liked about the typical brands is that they are flat out chemicals and pesticides. There is no way around it. That is just the bottom line. Yet, I knew that it was important for my Labrador’s health that they were protected.
That was until I was introduced to Wondercide Flea and Tick Control.
Just a quick background of the product. Stephanie Boone’s dog, Luna (an Akita- Husky mix), became deathly ill from pesticide fipronil, commonly found in typical flea and tick control. Luna pulled through and Stephanie knew she had to figure something else out, Wondercide was founded in 2008 and their commitment to “Treating the source, not the symptom” fuels their passion for education, policy change, and the creation of truly natural solutions.
I couldn’t agree more. You see I used Frontline when we first had Brody. I am not sure if the fleas in Georgia are on steroids, but the stuff just flat out did not work. My experience with Advantage 100 is what made me put the halt on flea and tick control. Saban starting losing his hair in patches and his skin became inflamed and irritated. Then it was Vectra 3D. Brody was just too sensitive to it and I had to take him off of it. Now it is Wondercide and so far I have been very happy with the product and we have been flea, tick and mosquito free. 🙂
Unlike your typical products, there is no sticky, runny mess when you use Wondercide. It comes in a typical spray bottle and very easy to apply. Just spray and work it in. Yes, I said work it in… with your hands! Try doing that with the other stuff. The formula contains Cedarwood oil and Hydrated Silica. That’s it. Simple and effective.
Now it is about time for me to reorder another bottle. Typically it will last between one and three months, depending on your usage. Having to active Labs, I tend to use it more when I knew we would be going to certain outings and I would use lighter amounts when we were sticking around the house.
I have to say that I am extremely happy with the results and the fact that it is an all Natural and Organic formula, is just icing on the cake. That for me, is what is important. No more typical flea and tick control loaded with pesticides will go on Brody and Saban anymore. I have not had good results with them and I would rather not expose them anymore. I say give Wondercide a chance and see if a Natural Organic solution works for your Labrador. You just might be surprised at the results.
