Some invitations you just should never turn down, so when my friend, Elena Pesavento, had the idea to hold FotoCoach with Andy Biggar at her family estate in Italy, I was all in. After all it is not like she needed another reason to go visit her family in Padova. Her family’s estate is absolutely breath-taking and it absolutely makes the best backdrop for photography.
Skills in the Holster
Elena already has great photography skills and a great eye, so when you throw in Andy Biggar’s teachings, you go from great to awesome. That is just what happened with her photography.
Elena has a very competitive side to her that only enhances her photography. During FotoCoach we had a lot of peer on peer voting and competitions, so when it was time to go shoot, it was time for business. When you add her competitive spirit with my competitive spirit, you get a friendly rivalry that results in great shots.
It is great to see what one can achieve from a good teacher. I first started learning from Elena and Andy fine tuned everything else. She has a great spirit about her and her love of photography is highly contagious. I can easily vouch for that. After all my first two cameras were Elena’s originals and they gave me the foundation to move up. Now we virtually carry the same camera, so the stakes have been risen. When it is time for FotoCoach Atlanta or when we head back to Italy in 2014, it will really be go time.
I want to give Elena a big thank you!! Thank you for inviting us to your home, thank you for awakening the photographer in me and thank you for being a great friend.
